Why we collect your Information

Knowsley Council is the organisation responsible for processing your information (the Data Controller).   When you book a course with us the Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership (KSCP) will use your information in order to arrange the course(s) that you wish to complete.  This processing is necessary in order to fulfil the terms and conditions (contract) that you have entered into.       

In addition to this, KSCP  would like to seek your feedback on its learning and training events. To be able to do this, we need your permission (your consent) to be able to store and use any contact details you provide to us. Although you may say 'yes' now, you can withdraw your consent at any time.

We will store your information in the secure booking system to enable you to use your account. The booking system will ask you to confirm your consent to receive correspondence from us regarding KSCP's training programme every two years.

We will not share your information with anybody unless the law requires it.

Learning and development:

For the purpose of learning and development opportunities we ask you for the following information when you book a course:

  • name
  • job role, organisation, and sector
  • contact details (i.e. email address, telephone number, and address)
  • budget codes and/or purchase order number/invoice address (if applicable)
  • dietary or other requirements (face-to-face courses only)
  • accessibility requirements

The following information is held for 6 years after the course dates for the purpose of anonymous learning and development reports and as a record of when people attend training:

  • name
  • job role, organisation, and sector
  • email address

We will keep a log of the training courses you have attended with us in order to provide you or your agency with CPD (Continuing Professional Development) evidence. We will also retain and process completed course evaluations in order to quality assure the courses that we provide.

Communications:

If you sign up to receive communications from us (newsletters, updates, campaigns, and event details) we will collect and store your name, organisation, and email address. This information will not be shared outside of the organisation. Your details will be stored until you request to no long receive communications, in which case they will be deleted from the system.

Surveys:

From time-to-time we conduct surveys to gather feedback. Information from our survey responses will not be shared outside of the Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership and will only be used for the purpose which the survey was developed. Information will be stored securely.

Removing or updating your consent:

You can withdraw your consent regarding the receipt of communications and feedback surveys at any time by emailing kscp.training@knowsley.gov.uk or writing to Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership, 1st Floor, Nutgrove Villa, Westmoreland Road, Huyton L36 6GA confirming your name and email address. You can also ask us to delete your account and all associated information using the same contact details.

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me?

No.

Will my data be transferred abroad and why?

No.

 What rights do I have when it comes to my data?

Under the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018/ UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the following rights with regards to your personal data: 

  • The right to subject access – you have the right to see a copy of the personal data that the council holds about you and find out what it is used for
  • The right to rectification – you have the right to ask the council to correct or remove any inaccurate data that we hold about you.
  • The right to erasure (right to be forgotten) you have the right to ask the council to remove data that we hold about you
  • The right to restriction – you have the right to ask for your information to be restricted (locked down) on council systems
  • The right to data portability – you have the right to ask for your data to be transferred back to you or to a new provider at your request
  • The right to object – you have the right to ask the council to stop using your personal data or to stop sending you marketing information, or complain about how your data is used
  • The right to prevent automated decision making – you have the right to ask the council to stop using your data to make automated decisions about you or to stop profiling your behaviour (where applicable)
